March

We all know that March comes in like a lion and out like a lamb, but did you know that March is adopt a rescued Guinea pig month? And because there history is different than ours, it is deaf history month too. It is also caffeine awareness month and cheer leading safety month, which I am pretty sure are related. Nothing is worse than a dangerous caffeinated cheerleader. Aren't you glad God gave you two eyes? This is eye donation month too, so celebrate by giving one of them to someone in need! It is also play the recorder month and sing with you child month, so bust out one of your favorite tunes in celebration of Irish-American history month. While your waiting on hold celebrating on-hold month, go ahead and google colorectal cancer in celebration of awareness this month, just make sure to do it optimistically because it is optimism month. Celebrate mirth with the world because the next 30 days are international mirth celebration days, just don't forget your kidneys or umbrella because we are celebrating those too. Gosh, my to-do list just got a lot longer!

Working on my Domestic Goddess Badge

I looked at the to-do list I made last week and am happy to say I can cross off almost everything on it. It only took me 2 weeks. I think I either need smaller lists or more time. Here is what I have been up to: -I have made 2 loaves of banana oat bread, 1 batch of blackberry strawberry freezer jam, 1 loaf of gluten free bread. -From 12 juiced grapefruit I made grapefruit curd and a pan of grapefruit bars. -My garden is almost completely done, including a upgrade in size. Blogging

So I have lost the love of blogging. I have always believed it is a narcissistic pass time, yet enjoy it anyway. I have found I easily spend entirely too much time tied to my computer. By the time I check Facebook , e-mail, friends blogs, etc I can easily waste an hour, if not two, of time. A friend of mine just blogged about the same thing. Yes, I get the irony of a blog post about not blog posting, but alas, here it is: I just read a good friends blog about my blog. A great leader here in Boulder, Kevin Colon wrote this: “Hugh moved to Denver to do a training deal for an organization and he ended up starting a church. His blogging is not incredibly frequent but when he does blog….it’s good!” Now, while I’m humbled that a man like Kevin would even want to read my blog, I figured it was a good time to state once and for all why I only post once or twice a month. Toddler Safety

Some days I am a energetic, creative, wonderful mommy. Most days, I am operating on 5 hours or less sleep with a husband who is out of town. For Elie's own safety, this week I was prepared with ideas of fun things to do. I thought I might share these for those of you who also have toddlers in danger of driving you crazy. Stuffed animal games : Make a train - Get a large sheet out and load it up with all the stuffed animals. Take them for a ride seeing how fast you can go without them all falling off. Sorting - Sort all animals by size, color, or animal type. Hide and seek - Kid waits in room while mama hides animal around house. Kid hunts them out. Birthday party - Pull out the hats and throw a birthday bash for all the animals. Basket ball - Put out a laundry basket and shoot hoops using the animals as balls. Crafts : Tear and glue - Grab a glue stick and tear up tissue paper to glue down to a sheet of paper. Toy prints - Use paint and a few toys or tp rolls. Dip toys in paint and...
